Your Initial Consultation: Clarity, Guidance and Next Steps

Many couples find that pregnancy does not happen as quickly as hoped. If pregnancy has not occurred despite regular, unprotected intercourse over a longer period of time (after 1 year for women under 35, and after 6 months for women over 35), a fertility assessment is recommended.

Initial Consultation

The first step at the 360° Kinderwunsch Zentrum Zürich is always a personal consultation. The initial consultation forms the foundation for all further steps. We take the time to discuss your situation together in detail. Our goal is to understand both your medical and personal circumstances in order to plan meaningful next steps together and find the most suitable path for you.

Good to Know

The initial consultation is generally covered by your health insurance (minus deductible and co-payment).

What happens during the initial consultation?

How long have you been trying to conceive? What assessments or treatments have you already undergone? What is important to you — personally and as a couple?

Existing results or new examinations carried out at our clinic (such as blood tests, ultrasound scans, semen analysis, etc.) will be reviewed and discussed together.

Together, we discuss which further assessments or treatments may be appropriate in your situation — for example additional diagnostics, cycle optimisation, insemination, IVF/ICSI. Complementary approaches such as TCM or acupuncture may also form part of the treatment concept.

An unfulfilled wish to have a child can be emotionally challenging. Your emotional wellbeing also has space in our consultations. If needed, we can discuss available support options.

Your Personalised Plan

At the end of the initial consultation, you will have:

  • a clear assessment of your situation
  • a recommendation for the next steps, including a preliminary timeline
  • realistic success rates discussed openly and transparently

This gives you clarity about the path we can take together. It is important to us to explain medical topics in an understandable way — without unnecessary jargon — and to give you enough space for your questions and emotions. We value openness and honesty, and we want every decision to feel right for you.
